I got picked once. One of our Lt. told me to call the court house and tell them I work with the PD. some. I did and they said forget it. I'd never be selected in a criminal trail.
...I went in for jury duty in OKC some years back, but they picked their jury before they got to me. I worked for the OSBI and one of our agents was a major witness in the case. He saw me in the courtroom, but never approached me. He told me later that I likely would have been excused.
On the other hand, one of my co-workers did serve on a jury in a drug distribution case. She told me that when the jury went in to deliberate, none of the other jurors had any idea that there were varying "degrees" of drug cases, thus they didn't know that distributing was worse than simple possession.
Scares one to think of being judged by one's peers.
