So my dog got lost/ run away.

My little miniature pinscher got lost two days ago. we always let him out and he would come back, but two days ago he didn't. im pretty sure someone picked him up. At night i can hear him barking in the neighborhood behind the house. he would wake me up at night barking at nothing and it was annoying. I know my dog's bark.

The problem is i cant hear it during the day and i dont want to go looking for him at night because i dont live in the best neighborhood. Even my kids heard him tonight and said that sounds like their dog, i never told them i heard him the night before. i know he is around here somewhere. very frustrating.
