Wide Receiver wasn't nearly the same as F&F. It was also ineffective, but for entirely different reasons. It was voluntarily shut down as soon as it was determined to be a failure. The point is, Obama's ATF knew it was a failure and revived it as F&F with even fewer controls. This exemplifies the huge difference in ROE's the ATF operates under, depending on whether the administration is pro or anti gun. 
OK. Now I'm just gonna post on here with my ass shining. What is the real difference between Gun Walking under Bush and Gun Walking under Obama? Don't the police ( and I'm showing my ignernce here) routinely observe crime in an attempt to trace criminals all the way up the food chain? I probably haven't paid enough attention to all this because, as everyone knows, I want to have Obama's baby.

Obama isn't responsible for F&F any more than Bush was responsible for Gunrunner. The real question is, how do these people keep getting jobs at the ATF?
Frankly I think the ATF should be dissolved and have their duties taken over by the FBI.

That almost happened until the ATF went to Waco. Yes, I realize that answer makes no sense until you recall it is a .gov agency.
Under Bush, they tried to track the guns with GPS and have the Mexican authorities on the other side pick them up to further the investigation. They coordinated the effort with Mexico. As soon as it was discovered that the Mexican authorities weren't tracking them once they crossed over, the program was cancelled. Under Obama, they had no coordination with Mexico, no GPS tracking and no clear objective on how to "connect the dots" on the Mexico side. Most astute observers recognize that this was a coordinated effort between the administration, Dept. of State and DoJ to further the anti-gun agenda and call for stricter gun laws, particularly the ones related to straw purchasers.
