I have been growing mine out for the last couple months.

I normally do a full on goatee, since the sides come in but a little thin. It will thicken up just takes forever it seems.

For the last month I have been letting the sides grow in, so its starting to fill in.

I am not shaving it off or trimming it up this time, letting it go to see if I can look like my profile pic 😃

Theres a entire sub culture out there for beards, its nuts, beard oils, balms, scents and other care products.

I have tried a couple beard oils and keep going back to Honest Amish, mainly cause I like the scent and it does not feel heavy in my beard.

The beard culture is almost as bad as the shaving culture, my god theres a rabbit hole you go down and never come back from LOL.

I can’t say that I’ve ever been clean shaven since I had to start shaving, as I’ve never shaved my mustache. I couldn’t tell you the last time I shaved my chin whiskers, but I haven’t shaved at all since New Year’s Day of 2021. I’m not even sure when the last time I trimmed it was.

A couple of months ago I went through a local car wash, and the guy manning the entry told me he wanted a a pony and a motorcycle. The manager at the apartment complex told me that one of the kids who lives here told her that Santa lives here, referring to me. Really, though, my beard still has too much color in it; he should’ve seen my dad, who had a full white bushy beard. He went to an OU basketball game a few years ago, and the cheerleaders gave him one of their posterboard signs with a handwritten “Santa?” on it.

I have tried them all. And always come back to these products. Oil after shower. Aquaphor in morning.. And wash beard good every 3-4 days with Pine Tar Soap. Between a good wash with Pine Tar Soap I will co wash with some natural hair conditioner photo below. Don’t over wash your beard, using anything but Pine Tar Soap and you are stripping your beard of its oils. Your beard is not like your hair on your head.

You get old you have to use products in your beard cause as you age and get old you’ll dry up. LOL!

In reference with the two subcultures “beard and shaving” I am not an approachable looking/acting guy I guess, my size and demeanor must keep people from approaching. But when I am wearing my beard real long, other bearded gents will start conversing about beards and referring to the “culture”.

Asking all kind of questions, I just shake my head and say I just let it grow. When I respond they usually say “Oh” and walk on. Have had several ask if I compete in beard contests. Never heard of that till the last few years.

Weird to me that some men make a beard out to be something like being in a club! LOL!

Dang it boy!!! I never knew until now that having a beard is so much trouble. I’m one of the guys memes are made of that use the same soap to wash my hair and my @ss that I use to wash my truck, so there’s no way I’m buying extra beauty supplies just for my beard.🤣

Haaaaaa! Same when I were a young man!

Go to youtube, type in beardbrand.

They are a shop in Austin Tx, have a full line of products and can do beard cuts that look great.

Its a rabbit hole I fell into a few years back, every now and then I stumble back in.

I’ve had a continuous (not clean shaven) beard now for the better part of 15yrs… and this is the only thing I use on it anymore. I’ve tried all the others and settled on this for quality, price and practicality. And it’s only around $5 at any Walmart, Target or Walgreens. It’s in the multi-cultural section. I use it in my hair too. Hair dries soft and healthy looking… well, as good as grey hair will lol 🎅🏼

I dont do anything special with mine cause dont care what it looks like cause the only persons that sees me that would care is wife, step daughter and the squirrels, chickens and the occasional buzzard that circles around waiting for me to drop when out working on the farm. I have never been one to care about fashion care more about comfort and if im comfortable dont care what others think.

That must really upset the employees at the car wash!
