The article says to compost them, not eat them. Funny you mention it though. I had the whole "longpig" conversation with my son this morning. If things hit the fan and with no other options available you can, and should, eat the dead.
I think the pentagon estimated 1-2 weeks and the cannibalism would start in SHTF.

The first question to ask, is composting humans for edible vegetation growth and akin to cannibalism? Would anyone here want to eat corn growing above a human corpse knowingly?

Do you know where asparagus grows best in Oklahoma .... Lateral lines from the septic. Grew up eating that and really did not think to much about it until I was 16ish and it dawned on me what the deal was when the new folks down the gravel road had a new septic system put in and I watched. Then my mind went all over the place . Where did we put the chicken crap, pig crap and goat crap... The garden.
It just compost , right?
