The article says to compost them, not eat them. Funny you mention it though. I had the whole "longpig" conversation with my son this morning. If things hit the fan and with no other options available you can, and should, eat the dead.
I think the pentagon estimated 1-2 weeks and the cannibalism would start in SHTF.
I'm not surprised. You can go about a month without eating, but by that time you don't have the strength to do much more than set snares. Two weeks sounds about right.
