I’m gonna have to try that out, sounds amazing. Would be easier to convince the old lady to try it out that presenting her some deep fried squirrel and biscuits.

Sweetie and I had squirrel & dumplings at a friends house once. Quite tasty.
I grew up with Mom chicken fryin' em in an iron skillet. Pretty much a staple during squirrel season, and one of Dad's favorite dishes.

I hiked in on my local river but even with a ridiculous dousing of deet the mosquitoes were too much. Didn't hang around long but had a neat encounter with a pygmy rattler.

I put plenty of deet on but the sweat washed it off and Buffalo knats and mosquitoes were swarming pretty good
Went out yesterday, even with my clothes being treated with peremethrin and hosing my self down with 40% deet I couldnt get away from the mosquitos and gnats. had to wear a neck gaiter deal over my ears just to be able to hear. Worst possible weather to go out in, but I still saw a few squirrels, all too far away to get a shot at or find when I got close enough. But, I'm gonna go out for the weekend this one coming up, so hopefully things go well then.
