Went looking for ammo this morning. Stopped at Academy on 81st. They had lots of Steel cases 9mm for $11 per 50. Talked to the guy at the counter told that it is harder on your gun. I now some indoor ranges ban it as its not reloadable. So is it worth getting? I shoot at an outdoor range so no problem there.
Do ranges ban steel cased or ammo that has a projectile that is steel core?

It might wear the extractor faster than brass cases but you'd have to fire a lot of it to cause much damage. I run some of it from time to time and don't worry about it at all.

I've run steel Monarch and Tula through my Glock 19 without a problem.
Tula - left & Monarch - right
Both are fairly dirty ammo but I'd go with the Tula because it doesn't have that weird coating that the Monarch does.

same here. I have fired over 600 rounds of both through my g19. Never had any problems.I've run steel Monarch and Tula through my Glock 19 without a problem.
