Mcloud isn't out of road travel range for NE Oklahoma shooters, so they deserve consideration as possible participants.
Steel Challenge is particularly popular with USPSA shooters. Oil Capital (Tulsa metro) shoots USPSA on the 2nd Sunday. Oil Capital has shot that same 2nd Sunday date since 1981. OCR&GC's USPSA match is the oldest continually-sanctioned IPSC/USPSA event in the state of Oklahoma. Those USPSA shooters will likely stay in Tulsa on the 2nd Sunday if they are forced into a choice.

- Oil Capital shoots Steel Challenge on the 4th Sunday (and will be moving to the 3rd Saturday).
- Ft. Smith AR shoots Steel Challenge on the 1st Saturday.
In NE OK the .22 rimfire division is very popular as a 2nd gun (or 1st gun for some shooters). With the .22 (as any other division) at least two mags are necessary for the match to proceed at a decent pace. A "designated mag stuffer" can refill the other mag while the shooter is firing a string. Of course the best arrangement is to have five mags.
