I was in there yesterday about 2:00. Don’t know if it was the same pistol but the one I saw with ammo was $300.00.

I was told by a man who ran gun shows,,,
That some sellers had "Morning" prices and "Afternoon" prices.

He said that a lot of early birds would pay the steep price,,,
But that by the afternoon the buying frenzy passed.

I only saw one Nagant revolver there so I'm wondering if this was the case.

It was a bit of a disappointment,,,
I walked the entire show, twice, in less than 45 minutes.

Lots and Lots of bolt action hunting rifles,,,
Only a few mil-surp rifles and they were way overpriced.

Or maybe I'm just behind the times as far as current prices go,,,
I mean is a $700 price tag on a beater Chinese SKS valid.

The Russian one was tagged at $1,000 even.

Normally I don't ever say anything about a man's asking price,,,
But when I saw a Kel Tec P17, obviously used, with 3 mags,,,
And his asking price was $375 I had to speak out.

I only spoke out because he was actively trying to sell it to me.

"You do know I can order a new one from Gunbroker for $214.95"?

"Not the OD Green ones." he replied,,,
"They are collector's items."

I couldn't restrain myself,,,
I laughed in his face and walked off.

The high point of the show was running into an old colleague of mine,,,
A professor who teaches at the college from which I retired,,,
We had a nice conversation catching up on gossip.

I need to do some research on the value of my handguns,,,
According to the prices I saw on the show tables,,,
All of my S&W revolvers are appraised low.

An absolute beater Model 10 with bull barrel - $675
An absolute beater Ruger Single Six - $425
A reasonably nice Model 36 snubbie - $1,200
A very nice Model 629 6" - $2,800

I was there for over an hour and didn't see one gun sale take place,,,
The vendor selling biscuits and gravy for $6.00 a plate,,,
Was the only one doing any business.

Oh well,,,
I had a nice outing in any case.

Wish you had posted some pics then I could have been disappointed also. I’m like you…. Last couple shows I went to seems everything is overpriced. Maybe I’m just not keeping up with current prices.

Sellers often have to raise their prices to cover what people want for their trade-ins. About 70% of people want more for their used stuff than you can buy it new for. Just because the price is marked high doesn't mean it takes that much to buy it. People have forgotten how to negotiate. I'm not saying all sellers negotiate to a reasonable level, but many will. Point is if you don't try, you won't get the good price.

Anyway, more on topic, the show was a flop.. The promoter again had half of the tables covered with his unattended overpriced stuff. Attendance was dismal. I will never waste my time going to one of his shows again.
