Congressman Steve Stockman (R-Texas 36) released the following statement Thursday morning:
I know better than perhaps anyone else how quickly a consensus anti-gun bill can end even the most untouchable political career.
Congressman Jack Brooks was considered unbeatable. He was the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee and the most senior Democrat in Congress. He was one of the most powerful figures in Washington. He was in one of the most heavily Democrat districts drawn just for him. He voted for an anti-gun bill the media said everyone supported.
And he lost his seat. Because he voted to touch the right to keep and bear arms he made history as the most senior member of Congress to ever lose a general election.
Who will become the next Jack Brooks this week?
Americans are more pro-gun now than we were 19 years ago. Gun owners are better organized now than they were 19 years ago. If Jack Brooks can be taken out by voters, so can you.

Love that question. We need to continue to remind our senators and representatives what happened in 1994.
