Is it possible to have a suppressor that fits a heavy barrel 308 and a 1/2 threaded 223? And if so, how would that work out? Would the heavy barrel be threaded to 1/2" threads?

Yes, but you'll need one with some QD mount that will give you a common thread on each gun. Most manufacturers make their mounts with this in mind so internally they will be 1/2-28 and 5/8-24 to fit .223 and .308 rifles.

I use a AAC 7.62 SD on my 11.5" piston AR and have never had to use ears with it. Nice and quiet, and the 7.62 SD is rated for anything under 300 Win Mag and sound good with 5.56 on full auto.

I have a YHM Phantom on my savage BAS-k .308 works great. Sounds like a .22 long rifle

Short BBl rifles are hard on suppressors so a lot of manufacturers dont guarantee their cans on them so if that concerns you you might want to find out if 12.5 is too short.

A good 308 can might do the trick on suppressing both 308 and 5.56 if you wanted to combine the money you wanted to spend on two cans and just get one.

For best value for the money you should look into the YHM Phantom in stainless and the M4-1000. Both built very well and not too pricey

have the m4-1000 by aac its very nice and silent, look ma no head phones. as far as 308 can go with the aac 7.62 sd

A Surefire might be out of your price range, but it's an excellent can. I have an M4-2000 on my 11.5" and it's a great can as well. I'll let others comment on .308 cans.
