As I understand, the obama camp isn't to worried about voter ID laws, if the ID laws happen to win in the lower courts, the obama camp will keep them tied up in legal matters all the way to the Supreme Court well past the election. I have only been around a few years, but still haven't seen anyone try to steal an election so blatantly.

I'm never reading the news ever again. I have already stopped watching the national news. You have some news sources reporting Obama not allowing time for troops to vote and now you have this garbage. I understand it's a reader's response but come on! Don't publish this garbage. [h=1]Voter ID laws aim to suppress Democratic turnout[/h]http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/opinion/readersrespond/bs-ed-voter-id-20120807,0,4092096.story

Voter fraud is not a problem in our country. For years, the emphasis has been on increasing voter participation so that those who get elected are truly representative of the people. Now, in an effort to defeat President Barack Obama in November, the Republican Party is doing everything possible to suppress the vote among young people, minorities and the poor, who all tend to vote Democratic.
The new voter law in Pennsylvania requires everyone to have a state voter card. No longer is one's driver's license or Social Security card considered valid identification, even though those are satisfactory for most other transactions. Many people who have voted all their life may be disqualified.
With no proof of voter fraud in any significant numbers, Republicans boast that the new system will enable them to win Pennsylvania. Since the beginning of his term, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has stated that the primary goal is to deny Mr. Obama a second term.
I thought the economy, jobs and health care were the primary issues of these last three and a half years. Rather than debate the issues and encourage maximum voter participation, it comes down to voter suppression in order to win. How cynical can you get? Is this really the American way?
Where there you go. You said it perfect yourself. The economy, jobs and health care are the primary issues. That's why the primary goal MUST be to deny Mr. Obama a second term. Thanks for your help.

What do you expect from a Baltimore paper? Honesty and unbiased opinion? It's Maryland already! As in the Commonwealth of Maryland. Get it? Commonwealth?

Lets face facts, our media and that includes the print media, by and large are just like the British tabloids. I guess it only stands to reason though since they want to turn the USA into another Britain.
