The Government....

I hear it--or read it--every damn day: "The Government" is going to take this away, or do away with that, or (fill in the blank). Well, people, who is "the Government"? It's people who work for the government, isn't it? In my case, that would be (or, in some cases would have been) my mother, my father, my sister, my brother-in-law, my ex-wife, my ex-father-in-law, my oldest friend and his dad, my closest friend and her dad, my boss (in his younger days), various aunts, uncles, and cousins, and about one-third of the guys I have lunch with every Friday, plus quite a few others, but you get the point. "The Government" isn't going to do crap to you! "The Government" is not out to get you because the government consists of a whole lot of people you and I both know! Maybe Congress is screwing you over, but for goodness sake, BE SPECIFIC!!! Forgive me if this seems too obvious to some of you.
