That suppressed buckmark is SICK!

I'm now considering purchasing a .22 pistol specifically for SC. Damn those FGST guys for talking me into my first match!

I looked at the rules for SC and it said "any .22 lr pistol"... So, would a Sig 522 pistol or MP-15-22 pistol still count as a pistol? I'm not looking for an unfair advantage, I just think a pistol "ar style" .22 would be fun to shoot in a match.

S&W 41, 7.25" bbl

or

Browning Buckmark "Hunter" model (has a rail), 7.25" bbl

or

*Roughly* in order. Maybe an old High Standard.

Rugers, nahhh. Ugly, takes 3 hands to re-assemble, not as much pride in ownership as a Buckmark. But if the budget is a little higher, go Smith 41 or bust! Either 5.5" or 7.25" bbl.

I have experience with the Rugers and can say I find them to be perfectly reliable and excellent guns.

I have never had the Browning Buckmark, but they sure are pretty guns and most owners seem to love them.

Last summer I attended quite a few Rimfire Steel Challenge matches,,,
By far the most common pistols were:

1) Ruger Mark Series pistols
2) Ruger 22/45 pistols
3) Browning Buckmark pistols

I did see a few Beretta NEOS pistols,,,
Most were stock as I don't think aftermarket parts are as available as for the Ruger and Brownings.

I saw some S&W Model 22's,,,
It a good gun so I would have expected to see more of them.

Then there were the people like me who were using a more unique handgun,,,
I was using a CZ-75B Kadet and not doing badly at all.

This year I might also try my Beretta Model 87 Cheetah,,,
I just need a few more magazines for it.

There were a few folk using revolvers,,,
All DA models, I never saw one single action revolver.

So, probably the Ruger Mark II and Mark III were the most popular,,,
I saw more of them in the Winners Circle than any other.

Just my observations,,,

... ... My 617 ... ...

S&W 617 is the finest .22 that money can buy in my not so humble opinion.

I Dont own one, but I got to shoot one with a 6" barrel extensively and have been coveting one ever since. Most reliable & accurate .22 I have ever shot.

We use Ruger 22/45's exclusively for our classes and with routine cleanings they run smooth as butter. Never owned a Buckmark but with the following they have, I wouldnt hesitate to own one.
