Of course they will. So many think they are so great. I won’t vote for either. They are part of the problem with this nation.
Sadly we will end up there. No one has the guts to do what is necessary to stop it.
That was my first thought I read the op.
Too comfortable. As long as men are comfortable, they won't fight back. Let there be some kind of major upheaval - economic collapse, EMP, some type of Yellowstone supervolcano eruption - something huge and catastrophic - and you'll likely see the rats run for cover. When people are starving and desperate, their respect for the "rule of law" tends to go out the window. But as long as we are fed and comfortable, few would volunteer for death or imprisonment, especially when they know that they'll certainly get no back-up from all of the other men who are just as comfortable.
