I loved the "quiet hours" on Sunday in Germany when flying w/ the AF. We got to sleep in which often meant later hours out and about on the town with extended crew rests.

Also, I neighbors had a new pool put in. They started in January and finished about a week ago...and they made a LOT of noise almost 7 days a freaking week. So, I am not opposed to reasonable quiet hours on a Sunday.

Well, I don't know if it's still the law but a home owner can;'t let his side of the street be trashy. They have to sweep the street to the middle and the neighbor across the street meets them half way.

I remember seeing shop owners sweeping the sidewalk in front of their establishment. Even cleaning up the gutter in the street.

One thing that struck me when I was stationed there, no litter. I don't think I ever saw a piece of trash out in the wild.

The roadsides were so clean, the Gov't would auction the rights-of-way to farmers, to cut for hay. One would see them swathing down the side of the highway.
