Could barely even watch the video thanks to the super over-dramatic narrator. Pass.

I found it funny they were trying to convince us it acted like hole saw. Really? Even with a 9mm twist rate of 1:10, guess what, it only turns over once in 10 inches! (of course this is an approximation unless you shot it point blank). Sounds like fluff to me.

The standard for anti-personnel bullets since time immemorial has always been the hollow point. It mushrooms out on impact, giving the bullet a much larger profile and stopping it inside the target. Unlike the full-metal jacket, which is designed to wound, it will more than likely not pass through what you’re aiming at.

However, since we started using weapons, humans have never stuck with the “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” philosophy and the bullet is not exempt. This newest anti-personnel round not only replaces the hollow point bullet, it also makes it look like a sissy.

Meet the RIP round from G2 Research. Not only does this bullet look scary, it does scary things. It was intended to be used for gun-toting women against would-be attackers, and it’s guaranteed to kill anyone dumb enough to assault anyone who has this in the chamber.

G2 calls it “the last round you will ever need” and describes its effects as “radically invasive.” As you’ll see in the video, the bullet doesn’t just stay in one piece upon entering it’s target. The round uses its forward momentum to send the edges of the bullet ripping apart into your attacker. This not only puts a round into the target, it also sends shrapnel into various parts of the body as well, effectively destroying vital organs.

At this time, G2 only has a 9mm version but plans to create various other calibers, including the 45 and shotgun slugs.

You'll have to go to the article to see the video: http://rare.us/story/this-is-the-la...ed-watch-and-see-the-technology-for-yourself/

Just ran across this at ammunitiondepot.com. They have all of the handgun calibers now. It was overpriced, and now I'm glad that I found this thread before I seriously considered even looking into getting any of this.
BTW, isn't this exactly why Winchester took the Talon and made it into Ranger ammunition because of all the hype from the medical community?!

Man this **** has been all over facebook the past few weeks. They have apparently hired some ex operator to tell everyone how badass it is so now all the fan bois are jumping on the bandwagon. His answer to anyone that brought up all the other videos showing how crappy it was basically was that they didn't know what they were talking about because they weren't ex operators so their opinion didn't matter.

Which goes even farther to show how ignorant some gun/ammo buyers are.

Most "Operators" know surprisingly little about guns and terminal effects. They are very effective at using what they are issued but that doesn't translate to all around terminal effects expert.

Junk round relying on junk science and ill informed shooters.

Service training needs more improvement than service calibers do...

Yep. Though I disagree with YG about the Talon. I thought it was crap because it didn't stay together.
