The companies work so hard to put an AR stock on everything that doesn't need an AR stock and it never looks right. This lever is the best example of that futile effort I've seen.

Did somebody new take over Mossberg recently? It used to be that they stuck to what they were good at and mostly made good solid pump shotguns and maybe some OK low-end deer rifles. But their last few products have been the pump action 12 gauge with the chainsaw grip, the 702 tactical plinkster (which is a .22 action with a cheap plastic shell screwed to it that looks like an AR) and now this "tactical lever action." I dunno, maybe they're onto something... maybe there is a growing demand from the Bubba segment of the market. It could be that since they've already bought up and ruined all the nice mil-surps, Bubbas are turning to the new gun market.
