Got this in a email from the American Motorcycle Association, in regards to some other restrictive legislation. Looks like an opportunity to meet with Sen Coburn face to face and let him know how important the 2nd amendment is to the people that put him in office.
I'm sure some discussion about UBC is in order.

I just got this in an email:

Senator Tom Coburn will be holding a town hall meetings next week across the state.
This is a great opportunity to make sure Sen. Coburn knows that you oppose amnesty and why. This event can also provide invaluable information on where the Senator stands on immigration reform.
A mass amnesty bill is expected to be introduced in the Senate in April, right after Spring recess. The Gang of Eight, particularly Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, did this on purpose so that immigration would NOT be a topic at town hall meetings. He does not want a public debate on this issue because he knows that the American public opposes amnesty and mass immigration.
During this Spring recess, pro-amnesty activists groups are going to be out in full force using emotional stories to try to fog the vision of lawmakers. We need to combat them with facts and remind them how Americans would be impacted from amnesty. So, if you haven't made a town hall recently, NOW is the time.
Here is the information for Sen. Coburn's town halls:

Here are some great points to make and questions to ask when attending an event with your Senator:
• Do you support amnesty? A "pathway to citizenship" would immediately give illegal aliens legal status and work permits on day one of its passage. This is amnesty because they get to skip ahead of the millions of people waiting around the world to work in the U.S. legally. I am 100% opposed to this amnesty and I ask you to oppose it also.
• How can politicians rationalize amnesty with the "labor shortage" argument when there are 20 million Americans today who cannot find a full time job and 7 million illegal aliens in non-agricultural jobs? These illegal aliens are competing with less educated Americans for jobs in service, transportation, and construction. How would issuing legal work permits to 11 million illegal aliens help get Americans back to work?
• The "pathway to citizenship" or amnesty proposal that will be introduced in the Senate soon may cost taxpayers $2.5 trillion in Medicare and Social Security alone. Please read this article to learn more about the potential taxpayer burden this amnesty may cause. Will you oppose amnesty?
• Bring Sen. Coburn this op-ed by Congressman Lamar Smith that outlines what really needs to be done in immigration reform: enforcement. Illegal immigration will never stop until we secure the border and enact workplace verification before we do anything with the 11 million people who are already here illegally. Amnesty will only encourage more illegal immigration and employers must stop hiring illegal aliens.

Did anyone attend today? If so, could you report on what was said?

The Oklahoman did: http://newsok.com/gun-issues-domina...on-at-oklahoma-city-town-hall/article/3779524

Snip: "A weary U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn tried to steer the conversation away from guns after responding to a couple questions about the topic during a town hall meeting Wednesday night. But questioners were determined to talk about gun control legislation, especially background checks."

Snip: "Asked by four people about background checks, Coburn said he's working on the issue.

“I want to change it so that somebody who has a gun and wants to sell a gun can know they're not selling a gun to a criminal or somebody not mentally impaired. That's about as far as I'm willing to go in going toward any infringement on the Second Amendment. … I'm not going to infringe on any of our rights guaranteed under the Constitution, period.”"

It's a good article and worth the click to go to the web page.

The daily Oklahoman in this mornings featured a story on the meeting. The story showed CLEARLY that Tom Coburn is behind the 2nd Amendment. He stated that he is not interested in limiting the type of weapons that Americans may buy. Coburn scoffed at proposals to limit certain types of semi automatic weapons and ammunition clips. We have a right to own those, he said. We have the right to have as many bullets as we want under the Constitution. To read the complete article go to page 2A of today's Daily Oklahoman.
