That's fine and dandy as long as it's not mandatory. I might use such a service just for peace of mind, especially if it were free. But make it mandatory or require recordkeeping and that's where it goes wrong.

Slippery slope. Remember when you could not be stopped for a seatbelt violation, but it could be inforced, if you were stopped for another reason.

That's a bit of a contradiction isn't it? "That's about as far as I'm willing to go". Then says "I'm not going to period". Any infringement at all is just that. Infringement.
