Toilet paper vs Ammo?

I came home with generic toilet paper last week and my wife gave me grief. She asked why in the world would I buy generic toilet paper. My response...

The other day I went to Atwoods and they had pallets of TP stacked around. 30 roll packs for $12.99
Anyways I thought "they are going to have a sale on this stuff they overbought during the shortage"
Then got home the next day and saw on tv where they were talking another shortage.
Shortage real or planned?? That is the question.

I don't theorize about the JFK assassination or the moon landing.
But it does raise the hairs on the back of my neck every time the TV forecasters yell "Blizzard!" and "Ice Storm of the Century!" only for little or nothing to happen.
That gets me to wondering if there was a big backlog of milk and bread that needed to be sold.

My theory is they predict the worst possible scenario. Then if it doesn't happen, no one gets mad. But if they say "It COULD get icy but probably won't." and then it does, they'll get a bunch of crap for a week.

I do have to grudgingly give it to the forecasters who said this recent ice storm would be bad because of all the leaves still on the trees.
Old timers said that even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
