Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher?!?! You got to be kidding me!

Thanks to the OSA peeps that recommended Lee Childs Jack Reacher series. I have started at the beginning of the series and have been working my way through. As I was reading, I was thinking about how the various books would work out as a movie. I was having trouble trying to figure out who could play Jack Reacher. Not many actors would fit the role of 6'5" 240lb blonde hair blue eyed former MP Major Jack Reacher. I darn sure did not picture 5'7" 150 lbs Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher! I was totally disappointed when I heard Tom Cruise had been cast in the role. I really enjoy the character, but I will refuse to go and watch the movie.

Same here there is no way Cruise pulls off Jack Reachers persona. Reacher is a bad a#$ in every way the film will not be seen by me to bad I love the books.

Tom Cruise did a fantastic job of acting the part of the stone-cold professional killer Vincent in Michael Mann's film "Collateral," but it is too much of a stretch to imagine him as the taciturn giant Jack Reacher. Love the books, but I'll avoid the movie.

No way - that will destroy the character. The guy from 'Thor', he could do it i guess. Part of the character's persona is his size, intimidation, ability to kick a__, and not be afraid of a bunch of bad guys.
