Mercy is that thing that we would like to be shown when we are being pissy with people even though we should have more self control, so if I have a crappy waiter or waitress, I just figure theyre having a crap day or maybe the home life is bad. I tip them anyway.Went to a little cafe today. Service wasn't great. Food was ok. I left cash tip on the table and paid with my card. Right as I was signing the waitress walked up and saw I put 0 tip and says "hope you have a better rest of your day". My day is going great. But she assumed I left no tip.
I've only not tipped twice in my life. That was when the bartender accidentally sprayed beer all over us. A lot not just a little and she didn't offer anything in return. Another time a waiter dumped a cup of sauce down my back. And didn't offer anything. Other than that, I always tip and sometimes tip A LOT.
It seems like now tips are more compelled than ever. Sometimes its hard to even figure out how to skip the tip screen. Is this actually doing a disservice to people that rely on tips? I used to enjoy showing people I appreciate their work but now I'm kinda of annoyed when the screen pops up everywhere now.
Ha. I show more mercy than you can imagine. I agree with you. I've actually been tasked with learning work communication as a goal and had to present how I was going to do that, why and prove it. Mostly books on the subject. I do agree it is a skill and compassion and respect for all is a must for any man with any sense.Mercy is that thing that we would like to be shown when we are being pissy with people even though we should have more self control, so if I have a crappy waiter or waitress, I just figure theyre having a crap day or maybe the home life is bad. Entitled folks are rising, lovers of self and expecting extra is the norm. Especially the urbanized liberal young people working anywhere. The electronic screens have decimated human interaction and they hate inconvenience or having to do any extra work!
Random note, I was told that being able to just talk to people face to face is a job skill. I laughed because I thought it was just normal to be able to speak to another human in a variety of tones and methods depending on circumstances and environment. Humans are weird creatures man.
Hahahaha this is gold, thank youHa. I show more mercy than you can imagine. I agree with you. But for your guys that struggle with reading comprehension I left a cash tip!!!! @CHenry
