I need to put a new floor in my 12' flatbed trailer.
Any suggestions regarding how to get the boards under the angle iron at the front and back?
I figure I need to flex the boards but not sure how to tackle that.

I drill holes and bolt the cut piece of angle iron back in place. That way if the boards need replacing again, the angle iron can be removed to facilitate the replacement.

Just do it at the front of trailer to be clear, i do this to all of mine so it is easier the change out the next go around. You can also use self tapping screws if you have some good ones around.

Two people required
Cut board to length minus half inch.
Hook board under rail on one end.

Other person work a jack in middle.
When end person one is standing on will go under rail jack is lowered.
No Welding !

Good information.
Some people like to screw the boards to the runners once you get them in place.

I do not like screws for that because by the time the boards need replacing the screws are rusted in and usually the head is messed up enough you can't get on it anyway.

I like to get the boards in place and put weight on one and drill through the board and runner and put a #16 nail into the hole and have someone under the trailer bend it sideways.
Much easier to remove.

I opted to build my trailer with a steel treadplate floor and install extra runners.
No regrets there.

Use the recycled 5/4 plastic boards for decks. You will never have to replace them again or treat them with chemicals. Some additional cross members may need to be welded in, but once and done. You won't regret it.
As far as getting the ends into the supports, just cut them with a torch and reweld.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
Looks like life would much simpler with a torch and welder....and knowing how to weld.
I'll be trying the jack-and-block method first. Will let you know how it goes.
