what historical value does this garment hold? I mean did it stop two nations from nuking each other? Did it change the way humans travel (wright brothers), oh did it fly itself around the world, or perhaps it has gone to the moon the first time.

Items I would expect in the Smithsonian have value, this shouldn't even be known about outside florida. Good Lord. Smithsonian council should not allow this or anything like it. Now that I read ALL of the original post, I see how this could happen, but what the hell, this case was still about racism?

it certainly was NOT on Happy Days

aaaaaaaa Still and iconic show. I have never been to the Smithsonian or any of them I should say, so perhaps there are items that are not as historical, but would you agree that Happy Days is a positive show that was iconic and showed and is still showing for that matter. I think it does relate to America and values and is historical to me at least.

just razzin' ya, the hoodie has no place in the Smithsonian

BTW Loved Happy Days I think they also have archie bunker's chair

Somebody help me....when was the last time there were slaves in this country?
Technically...around 150 years ago.

Is this when the date when the world comes to an end?
Nope.....just roughly when the museum first opened.

To bad there was a higher percentage of free black slaveholders in this country then there was of white slaveholders.
Source? I'd be interested in knowing what you believe those numbers to be.

The excuses & reasoning these people are giving
These people? Who's that?

Did they ever open up the sealed files on MLK? Who else was with him in the Lorraine?
This somehow changes the fact he was assassinated?

I have been up there, it's an amazing series of museums, but the exhibits range from historical/scientific to pop-culture a la "Happy Days". The Marine Corps museum in Quantico is the best of all the museums we visited.

I heard he, Elvis, and JFK are down in mexico. They opened an "el pollo loco" franchise, and are doing very well. My source tells me they just broke ground on their 3rd store, should be finished around late November.

Fixed it for ya.

Love some crazy chicken. A shrewd and powerful small-business triumvirate to say the least. A well suited rival for the Pentaverate?

Thanks, I forgot he was a doctor. My wife is a very advanced nurse, I've watched her spends countless hours studying, and preparing just to stay up with current practices.
I wouldn't want to fail to recognise Dr. King after he put in all that hard work, even if I don't believe he was as spotless as many do.

The director of the Institution's coming National Museum of African American History and Culture said he'd like to have the hooded sweatshirt on display.

Whiney complaints about the National Museum of African American History being racist to follow I'm sure.
