Yep, I've heard they're pretty much the only game in town if you want something really reliable, durable, and accurate.

I'm extremely happy with my EOTech 512 (mounted on a Sig 556 Classic w/ BUIS)

I heard early ones had issues with low tritium illumination, not sure if it got resolved.
I spent some time with one and enjoyed it, loved the chevron recticle.

The other issue I know of...if you run battery illumination and don't have the cover over the fiber optics, it likes up like a stove.

After spending a little time with the Tripower and the 1.5x and 2.0x compact ACOGs, it much preferred the minis, even for CQB.

I may give the 2x Compact ACOGs a look at. I was unaware of the tritium issue, how long ago was that? I'm pretty familiar with the full size ACOGs TA31s, TA01s.
