I dunno about that, single payer just doesn't have the support on the left. Of course you have Bernie, but his last push got some pretty good opposition from those who pull the strings.
If subsidies go, the 50% that were using the exchanges will be screaming that they don't have healthcare. IMO, once prices go up, they NEVER go down. The other 50% that are managing to afford their healthcare will be screaming healthcare premiums are too high.

Since Congress is only concerned about getting re-elected, it will quickly surmise, the only way to make everyone "happy" and bring down prices will be single payer.

They'll paint a rosy picture and polish up a turd to sell it, but the death panels and rationing will start shortly thereafter.

I do not think anyone said they are. I never said anything about pre existing conditions. please. do not put words in my mouth.

I know, but I inferred that you were saying that the affordable Healthcare act somehow subsidizes poor lifestyle choices. My point is that not everyone chooses to be in poor health.

you are wrong, but believe what you wish.

I think it depends. If you yourself had a pre existing condition, it's better than what we had before. If you had no employee health insurance, it's better than what we had before.

Who foots the bill when an individual doesn't have health insurance? You and me, the American taxpayer at a premium markup.

The affordable Healthcare act is not an amazing or exceptional law by any standard,. But it's better than what we had before. It needs work.

The law wasn't designed to work! The law was to take over 1/3 of the us economy and push its citizens to a single payor system.
