When my Grandpa took me hunting over 20 years ago he taught me to shoot with his 22. About 5 years ago their house caught on fire and of course his rifle was lost to it. Over the years since I have been trying to purchase the guns he had and add them to my collection, but the one that eludes me is the one I desire most. His 22 was a Remington model 550-1. I have seen a few on gunbroker, but they are either in rough shape or they seem to be asking a fairly steep price for them, or both. lol wasa wondering if anybody could #1 give me some more info on the 550-1, but #2 if anyone would know where to find one and for what price is it reasonable to purchase? Thanks a lot.
