I was under the impression that the Castle Doctrine now applies to just about anywhere one is likely to be, so long as it is a place that they could legally go. Thus, a person in their own vehicle when attacked could respond with lethal force.

There is also disparity of force. If your an older person and a younger, stronger person attempts to do bodily harm, your justified to protect yourself with all means available.
