TV Then and Now

So, I will admit I am medicated for my bad back, so this may make no sense. As I am waiting for my Sunday night TV shows to begin, I switched on to the Retro Network or maybe RFD or whatever, and I caught Hee Haw. These people are sure not the plastic surgery enhanced contestents of American Idol. These people look like regular people. They'd probably never make it now in our insane, vanity driven culture.

I wish they would bring back all the old tv. The new reality saturated lineup is crap. I don't even mean that in a polite way 95% (that is purely a fictional figure) is crap that is not worth watching. You can't hardly find a decent show on the history channel anymore. Maybe cause I was a kid at the time but older tv had more entertainment value with less drama.

I completely agree. When I go visit my family in Arkansas my wife gets mad cuz all I'll watch on TV is the local UHF channel with Emergency! SWAT, the Incredible Hulk, etc.

I wish they'd bring back the local TV station scary Friday or Saturday night. Here in the OKC area, Count Gregor and a (usually crappy) scary show to eat popcorn and drink a pepsi with.

Hee Haw was genuine music... I'm not a huge country fan, but they we're/are true musicians. Roy Clark is a genuine musician. Not many "artists" these days can claim the same.
