Wish the web page had more information about what the matches consist of (this is for the few of us that have never participated).
Is there a link I can go to and see what skills you have to have to participate?

You need a pistol, and a holster that covers the trigger along with a belt to hang it from. Mag pouches are a plus. Depending on the division you're shooting in, (most new folks shoot production, which is a factory stock gun without mods) You would need enough mags to shoot a 30 round stage. When I first started, I had mags in my pockets, belt, etc, but you quickly find out that mag pouches on the belt are much quicker, and its a game of speed and time.
Keep in mind, it's a game where you run and gun over a short distance and not all shots are hits, so you need to make up some. I shoot limited, a gun with mods to the gun and extended mags, so I have 21 .40's in the gun when I start, and typically have to reload once. If you're shooting a gun with a 15 round mag, you would have to reload probably three and maybe 4 times, but you're shooting against others that have the same limitations. You wouldn't be competing against somebody with a modified gun in the final scoring.
Our match requires 170 rounds if you hit every target perfectly. Nobody does, and if there is a piece of target equipment that fails, like the wind blowing over a piece of steel because its set so light, then you get a reshoot on that stage.
I bring 300 rounds minimum.
