Can you back that up with something more than the word FACT?
I was not an adult at the time, but I have read about this over the years. There seem to be many cases where the US sailors that survived believe/know beyond any doubt that this was not a case of mistaken identify and that Israel knowingly acted to attack the Liberty. You have to believe the Sailors.
I don't doubt the sailors sincerely believe the attack was deliberate, but how could they know?

The story is, they boarded the ship after the air attack, and attempted to machine gun all survivors to leave no witnesses, They missed a few souls.
It is a miracle that ship and some of its crew survived... what a testament to the bravery and skill of those sailors. The Israelis threw everything they had at them. By rights they should all be at the bottom of the Med and only one side of that story would have ever been told.
As for whether it was deliberate or an accident, no one can truly know... but one thing I always do in these situations is consider who could benefit from it.
One thing I do know -- the Israelis are master manipulators, and this certainly wouldn't have been the first time they tried to manipulate world powers for their own interests. Hell, how many other groups of people could have gotten the UN to support them taking over a piece of land inhabited by other people, just based on the fact that their ancient ancestors lived there a couple millennia ago?! Could you imagine anyone else pulling that off?! How many other tiny middle eastern sh!tholes could get most of the inhabitants of the most powerful nation in the world to support their nation's interests over their own? It boggles the mind.

I am disgusted and disappointed at the amount of anti-Semitism on this thread. I find it oddly curious that someone would bring up such an old incident at a time when Israel is on the brink of war.
