I know there's a couple of engineering nerds on this forum... This question is directed at you.

Which strip goes on the wall? Hook or loop?

Google can't find a consensus.

If it matters, I'm putting up a Linksys WRT54G Router. I coulda swore it came with screws and anchors, but I can't find them, nor can I find suitable mounting holes on the body. Thus, Velcro.

Get off my lawn.
I like to put the loop. Because the hook side can tend to get a bunch of lint and junk in it and it looks terrible if it is on the wall like that with nothing on it. And the loop is soft so it doesn't irritate the skin.

I'm not sure it really matters in your application.

Veggie, sometimes you just have to go with your gut. Trust your own judgment. I know this is a big decision and your first urge is to seek the input of others, but try to resist. Look inside. You've known the answer all along.

If you loop where you should have hooked, or hook where you should have looped...well by God you did what you thought was right. Nobody can say you're not a man. Pick your router up, dust it off and you've learned a valuable lesson.

Call me if you need to talk. I won't walk you through it, but I can let you talk it out on your own if that helps. Sometimes just having someone to listen to you helps a lot. You might want to take a lunch break first, clear your head. Maybe even start fresh tomorrow or Monday. Resist the urge to drink until you blackout, it's not worth it.

Sincerly,

I would say it doesn't really matter. so long as you get a good grip and enough velcro....of course I would go overboard and add anchors and tap screws in as well just to be sure.

It's a trailer. I'm not sure that helps. I can drive screws into studs without a drill or applying an extra pressure to the screwdriver.

My gut says loop. That's what my gut also said when I built a pedalboard when I played in bands in high school. I'm sure I still have around 15 or so yards of Velcloth left somewhere, but I'm tired of looking for it. (Side note: I didn't want to be stuck to a single configuration on my board. I had around 20 pedals, and was constantly buying, selling, and trading them. So I shopped around for Velcloth and ended up buying it from the manufacturer. Minimum order was 20 yards, which was about 20 times what I needed. But hey, I got it for $11 shipped.)

Nietzsche went insane after trying to decide in vain whether to remove both backings from a strip of double sided tape before applying it, or apply one side at a time.

This is nothing to **** around with, mang.
