IMR4064 is used in a couple Military cartridges because it’s more temp stable. I should add that it’s more temp stable for those rounds. Maybe not anything else

I could get a consistant 3965fps with a 243 shooting the 55gr Nosler ballistic tip over Varget out of the Ruger#1 but only got 3875fps with 25fps deviation up and down from 4064. I attributed it to load density with Varget the 243 case was more efficient burn.All the .243’s I’ve ever had and the .308 I used to have loved Varget.
I used the same charge in every .243 and they always shoot great.
But my 30-06 likes 4064 better, so I keep a bunch of each.
