Like Paul Harvey said, here's "the rest of the story"...

Cousino was a convicted felon. He gave Allen the AR pistol to hold for him because of that. They met at the QT so Cousino could get his gun back. When he got the gun he attempted to carjack Allen of his car. They struggled over the gun. Cousino ran away. Allen shot him as he ran away and wounded him. Allen then chased him down and shot him several more times, killing him. A bystander was also wounded by Allen.

Allen is not the good guy here. If what the affidavit says is accurate, he's lucky he's not being charged with murder. Play stupid games and all that...

Some of the comments above are a perfect illustration of why it's a bad idea to form judgments before you know at least some of the facts.
Exactly. Allen's actions after the struggle is why he is looking out through steel bars right now.

You answered the questions I was wondering. The article, unless I missed a portion of it didn’t really go into everything. I was wondering what the rest of it was.

When the story first broke of the attempted car jacking and shooting, I was on the ‘Good on Allen” bandwagon. Once the details started to flow though the picture and my opinion shifted.

1. Allen was knowingly holding an AR pistol for a convicted felon

2. When meeting to return the weapon, Cousino decided to try and jack him. Allen wrestled the gun away and shot Cousino as he was fleeing.

3. Now they release the witness statements that he then chased down Allen and shot him multiple times.

Unless thing drastically change, this was a situation of people knowingly breaking the law and then taking things from bad to worse when one decided to car jack the other. This was totally avoidable. Allen should be charged if the above is true.

The real culprit in all of these opinions are just exactly what the news headline wished to create, total confusion. They, the media, know the rest of the story, there are just not of the mind to relate it to us, the public.

They could have said, Man Chases Down and Allegedly Executes Attempted Carjacker.

Or just reading the headlines, and not the actual articles…

The first news report of an incident almost never has enough details to really know what happened and why. There are two sides to every story, and you rarely get both sides from the same source. It's usually best to avoid a rush to judgment.
Very few, if any, subsequent articles actually reflect the facts either. More like a version of what transpired that uses sensationalism to attract readers/viewers and further an agenda.

With that information sounds like he will be a convicted felon now.
