It's amazing how uninformed you are of the facts involving the draft process and how people involved in it handled their personal situations when the draft letter came to their home.
Please enlighten us with your base knowledge of those times.
You sound like you might be old enough to know since you feel the need to comment on it.
Maybe you have taken it upon yourself to really delve into investigating the draft process to really understand it at the time?
Help us out here. We all want to hear your understanding.
Did you get a draft card since you know so much about it?
Would you please post a picture of it?
We really need a pic of your birth certificate and your high school graduation cert to prove your really alive and honestly got out of high school, which a lot on here think is a lie considering how uninformed and easily influenced you appear to be.
Help us out here please.

Btw, man up and post your real name on here.
We have inquiring minds.....

Some folks volunteered when they saw they had a low lottery number. Some waited until they got the draft card in the mail then volunteered. Neither were particularly unusual, in both cases they were just resigned to the reality of what was happening and wanted to make the best of it. Volunteers could occasionally get better career fields, unit and/or station of choice deals, sometimes even cash bonuses, those who waited and showed up as instructed on their draft card generally got what they got with little choice.

Not that it matters. If someone self-identifies as a Marine Corps General you guys just need to accept it.

Sorry, no internet at the house, too busy this weekend to mess with the phone.

I have no knowledge of those times and never had any claims to that, nor the draft process. What I do know is what you have posted previously.

You said you were in Vietnam 5 months after graduating HS. Said you got a deferment to attend college. Dropped out of College because you were married and wife was pregnant.

Okies graduate in May, College starts in September. A semester runs until December. May to October is 5 months, so unless you quit college after 3 weeks....Noway could you have been in Vietnam 5 months after High School.

And if you did quit college early and "volunteer", your boot camp and AIT took 4 months. That puts you in Vietnam in late spring of 1972.

Not sticking up for anybody but you can start college in the spring semester.

Also, 120 Acres, can you please reinstate the big booty brunette holding a rifle as your avatar? sasha grey, meh...

Sorry, they deleted it. Then deleted my second choice. This is about as wild as they will let me go.
