I need help mounting a vice. I am trying to keep it portable so I am going to mount it to plywood. Other than this I don't know if to use bolts or screws to attach it. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Several ways.

Some guys use receiver hitch components to make a "portable" vise setup. Receiver on bench, vise mounted on a plate attached to a ball mount.

You can do the same thing with some heavy square steel tubing, one piece that goes inside the other.

I have a couple of vises. One is mounted on the bench top with bolts, the other is on a grinder stand. The one on the grinder stand gets used for things that throw sparks, I can move it towards the overhead door so the spark fly outside.

Check out garagejournal.com, you will find answers to this and much, much more there...
