Walmart to stop selling handgun ammo, ends open carry

Just got back from nearby Walmart (They had .16cpr Federal 9MM Champion) I talked to the associate about them not carrying handgun ammo anymore and he told me that it wasn't true. He said, indeed, that Walmart will stop carrying 223/556 ammo, but that the internal corporate memo said that was the only ammo they would no longer carry once current stock is sold. He said that handgun amm would continue to be sold. So who knows. Maybe the story is wrong, or they are trying to get the rabid anti-2A people to back off a bit.

Because the dude at the Wal-Mart ammo counter knows what's going on or acts as the mouthpiece for the company? Doubtful.

A plus at academy or at least mine is ammo is on the shelf, not locked up and have to wait a hour for somebody to unlock it. I get my 22 ammo at walmart one is close to me work like across the parking lot and next to the interstate I use to go home, my academy is north of work and traffic can be bad times, and my temper and traffic don't mix.

What always amazes me is that whenever Walmart opens a new store, a new building (or two or three) go up nearby for other businesses to open up their shops. Some of those are small, locally owned businesses.

Amazing how Walmart is killing the "mom and pop" store.

IF this had just been his opinion, I would agree with you. However, he stated an internal memo said otherwise, so unless he is just straight-up lying, or the memo was out-of-date, I would tend to believe him. But we will see, hope he is right though.

Aside from .22 and 12 guage, I reload everything. It saves way more money than walmart ever could.

And reloading is much more fun than going to Walmart!
