My opinion is that cops seemingly don't care unless you're a cop. And if you are a cop you better be THEIR kind of cop.

I've met a lot of great cops, have some in my family even, but I still have zero faith and trust that any cop I could meet in any official encounter would give a single crap about me.

I have a friend who retired after 40 years as a cop. (detective at the end)

He once told me "don't say **** to cops. Even if I'm at your front door, don't say ****. Cops aren't your friend and you have nothing to gain by talking to them."

I have a very good lawyer friend who espouses the same advice.

It's crazy how many cops I'm friends with that have such a low opinion of their peers. This includes cops from Tulsa to Houston to Dallas to Midland.

The nature of the feelings in these guys is pretty much the same: the lack of respect for individuals' rights and the "bully behavior" of some of them. The "control of the situation" taught to them takes precedence over decency. Myself and my wife experienced it firsthand, and once you get that bad taste in your mouth it makes you want to check that power, as there's little balance.

There's nothing more entertaining than a bad cop encounter post on a conservative gun forum. :pms2:

No joke. "Conservatives" gripe about rights being taken away, and all the BS laws being used against them, yet have some kind of religious reverence for the state employees tasked with carrying out said laws.

Definitely agree on this. It also reminds me of this quote that makes the rounds from time to time:

I think about this quote often when I hear about LEO encounters.

LOL....do you think the law cares about us? They'll investigate themselves, find nothing wrong, and then likely start smelling weed more often around his car or yours. LEO's have no inherent duty to serve and protect and can lie all they want per SCOTUS.
Yep. But look at how many folks act like cops are amazing people. I’m not saying they are all bad people. But I guarantee 99% of them would violate our constitutional rights. I suggest folks watch live PD, or now it’s On Patrol. They routinely pull this crap. They are just thugs of the state. They ain’t on our side.

He's elected. It can change.

My question is; why doesn't it?
Election fraud, same as Trump losing.

Or, too many voters instinctively vote for the recognized name. And probably view the "law and order" guy as the "good guy" without giving much thought to it.

I don't believe folks think through a lot of their voting options.

Didn't used to be this way. Ton of antigov suspicion among conservatives in the 90's.
All turned off when they jumped on the "first responder hero" bandwagon after 9/11, and the worship followed.
Thin Blue Line Gadsden Flags lol.

Pendulum seems to be swinging back.

I was one of those guys, still am.

The tide changed with the OKC bombing. No one wanted to be seen in the same light as McVeigh.
Mission accomplished, FBI.

I don't need to refute it because it's utterly ridiculous on it's face and there is no way you can support...in a factual and rational way...the average cop shoots people simply for refusing to consent to a search.

And whether you or l like it or not, if an officer does have PC to search a vehicle and the subject resists at a level that justifies a deadly force response then that's on the subject...not the officer.

I don't dispute there are bad cops and cops who shouldn't be doing the job for various reasons. But to say the average cop does what you stated, for the reasons you stated, is just plain stupidity.

Like you, I hope that the dumbest **** I read all day.
