@kroberts2131 no matter which gun and action type that you decide on you'd be wise to pick one that will chamber both 2 3/4" and 3" shells.
Back when I bought my Browning A5 new in 1978 they came chambered for either 2 3/4" or 3".......the 2 3/4" gun will not fire 3".
I've taken many ducks and other game with them and I do not feel the slightest under gunned using them but there hasn't been any 2 3/4" steel shells available locally for the past two years and I had to mail order ammo in for it last fall.......there have been quite a bit of 3" and 3 1/2" steel shells available.
Ain't nothing wrong with shooting 3" and 3 /12" shells but trust me 2 3/4" shells will kill ducks.
