The first time this came up (1860) it didn't work out too well for Texas.
Not sure the OP has had total success in making his point. For those who haven't already noticed, Dennis has a little better command of the language than he has shown here. He did it twice. Some seem to get it and some don't.
I get it. Secession is embraced by some of the lesser well informed. The fact that some states have enough idiots to get a petition going and signed doesn't mean that those states want to leave the union.

TX can secede and it's in their constitution??? NOT! Urban legend believed by way too many people most of whom are Texans. I grew up in TX. Had to take TX History. Right to secede was not taught. I read the TX constitution a few times too. Right to secede? Not in there.

At this point in time it would be stupid for them to secede but who knows what the future may bring.
That said; if any state could go it alone and succeed as an independent nation TX could. Very diverse culture and geography with abundant resources and a major port with some minor ones too. Texas highways connect east and west and north and south. Plenty of airports large and small. A diverse, well educated and very proud population. Strong agricultural, industrial and technology sectors. Their economy is strong and getting stronger and is larger by GDP standards than most of the nations on the planet.
Texas has a lot going for it. It could make it as a stand alone nation. It might have to go thru some birthing pains but it would make it.
