On the way out to where I am now I saw a pickup with the driveshaft out of it on the side of the road. Have u joints for mine now since I have about 60k miles on them and who knows how many before that are on them.

Broke some rear and front drive shaft ujoints/yokes and front axle shaft ujoints and locking hubs many times on the trail. Even though I can change them out pretty quick now it's still not any fun lol. Couple of these too.....

She's not lifted, but the day will come when she gets an OME 2.5 kit and maybe 1 inch body. I'm thinking about going to harbor freight and getting a 6 ton press and doing it solo, it will be cheaper than paying a local shop after my fancy 20% off coupon, plus I will have a press that I will selsom/never use again.

A press? Heck plenty easy enough to do em with a hammer and appropriate sized socket but it's even easier with that same socket and a vise. I've got two presses and still prefer using the vise.

Yeah Ive done countless ones with a hammer and a few sockets. I really should get a press some day. Be careful driving around in just front wheel drive. Drives funny and its hard of the front driveline.

I’ve seen a tree used to remove ujoints while on the trail down at Gruber. The guy swung the driveshaft like a bat and hit a tree just right with it and that knocked the ujoint caps out. He used the spark plug socket and hammer trick to reinstall. Not sure I would recommend this way, but it worked for him.
