I just paid mid-Dec $849 through Atlantic for what 10yrs ago was a $400 WASR-10, and 15-20yrs ago was a $200 WASR-10....quite happy with it, crude, but all forged and machined and chrome lined, everything within milspec straightness (which ain't sayin' much) only 110rds so far, all flawless function, no problem with Arsenal new 10 and 30rd or Polish surplus 10 and 30rd magazines, managed 5-shots into a 2"tall/1"wide group at 50yds with the issue open sights too close for my eyes which group I'd currently have trouble equalling with a Colt A4 with issue sights, cheap Igman ammo in the AKM and cheap M193 in the Colt. Before and after replacing uninspirational wood with Arsenal $130 milspec glass and steel reinforced plastic stock set of far more ruggedness. Many of the AK types on the market use castings for rear stock mount, gas block and front sight base, and some even for barrel trunnion, and lack chromed hammer forged barrels, all of which should be avoided. The WASR-10 also has proper rivets locking everything together, that also lacking on no few cheap ones sold. My recommendation is to buy the WASR, next up $1200 on a Zastava (with own unique parts/mags) or the $1800-$2000 Arsenal or Kalashnikov-USA (if you ever see one). No expert, but was issued AKMs at times in military, and former Arsenal SLR106-FR owner, and the parkerized WASR just ducky for what I wanted.
PS-Century is selling quite a few USA-made guns, there are also those being sold made on Polish commericial parts and some with mixture of Polish commercial and Polish used issue parts. The WASR is all Romanian built at Cugir plant which built their military AKs, now all-new parts (the old 10-63 a mixmaster), and current parts installed by Century for 922r compliance limited to PG, muzzle brake, trigger group, gas piston and magazine. Mine still managed to arrive with Romanian trigger group and gas piston, but that was an outlier.

Looking for one for a friend. Haven’t been to a gun show in 2 yrs either
As for going rates, you'd have those with this page, keeping in mind my prior comments...

As for the WASR, sure there have been bad ones, Century has been good about the odd bad rifle, but with sheer numbers of WASRs sold, it gives you very best odds. I have seen ALL make AKs with gas blocks and front sight bases not perfectly vertical, and if the gun functions reliably and can be zeroed within sight adjustment range, then neither the Russians or anybody else called it defective. The WASR is used by tourist destination Battlefield Las Vegas full auto rental range, where they convert WASRs to full auto, and get typically 80k-100k full auto rounds until a trunnion or receiver cracks, and have yet to shoot out a barrel.
Here is a much later update to the above WASR review...
