I was in Cabela's over the weekend and compared BPS prices in the fishing department to Cabela's and found Cabela's was a little cheaper than BPS on several items.

Cabela's has an outstanding staff member in their gun library in the OKC store. I have known Clay for over 20 years and if I need to know something about a firearm he is the one to call on.

I think neither store are a good example of themselves. OKC BPS wasn’t ever good but was nice to have when they were the only game in town. Cabelas here started out OK, it was just small. Then BPS bought them and now they’re pretty much identical tourist shop stores. I miss sportsman’s warehouse.

Bass Pro had some good online Christmas sales. They also have add’l 15% off all online orders for club members on Mondays until Christmas. Plus free shipping with 4% (county tax only for me).
I was able to get Federal FMJ 9mm ammo for under $11/box a couple weeks ago.

Haven't been to Bass Pro for quite some time, been to Cabela's and Academy far more often. What I dislike about the huge stores is the trigger locks, If I'm going to spend money and it's not a Rimfire or will break dryfiring, I want to squeeze the trigger. I also don't like being asked about travel at Cabela's, or do I have a Cabela's card. Other than those complaints I like going there.

I'll never buy another gun from BP. Purchased a pistol from them a couple years ago and asked the counter guy if I could try some holsters. Guy said "Sure go grab whatever you want and bring it on over." Picked up a couple of holsters and went back to the counter and began to try them. Counter Guy #2 comes up yelling "THAT'S BRANDISHING A FIREARM I SHOULD CALL THE POLICE!" waving his finger in my face and absolutely losing his mind. I tried to explain the situation and he wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise. I ended up not buying a holster (or ammo for that matter) that day.
1: CG#1 told me I could
2: That's not what brandishing is.
3: If someone is there for a nefarious purpose (as implied by the "brandishing" comment) is it really a good idea to come up screaming and waving your finger in their face?
They must just hate money if that's the way they treat people. I'll stick to buying from local gun shops (or the classifieds here 😉)

Come on 16, you can’t say anything positive about BPS. That goes against the grain here.
