this! Could have made his day and not caused a situation, instead your online looking for reasons to back up the choice ya made. Sunday is tomorrow, be sure to hit church if ya have time.
This 'let them have whatever they want even if they didn't earn it or don't deserve it' is the type of attitude that has created the world we live in today, and it's only gotten worse with the 'you owe me for past events that I had nothing to do with' beliefs that are now starting to be prevalent among some. So lets stop with the attitude that not offending someone or being Politically Correct (PC) takes precedence over anything else including societal norms, laws, ethics, honesty, or morals.

His kind is what made me quit doing in person charity. I'll still donate to causes I believe in, but I'll never sling hash for the "underprivileged" again.
Yep. Same reason I quit the Red Cross. Almost every fire I went to the people had cigarettes, alcohol, casino t shirts, and multiple tattoos. Many were entitled and wanted more than they got from the Red Cross. Chairity is one thing, volunteering to help entitled people who do nothing to help themselves isn’t for me.

Just a microcosm of our society in general. "No good deed goes unpunished". The majority has been giving to the minority for decades, through social programs, affirmative action, and a myriad of other ways, only to be held in contempt.

You're a better man than me.
The OP is a much better person than me too, and situations like he was in is why I keep to myself and don’t participate in any kind of charity programs anymore.

Even though I’m a slow learner, “no good deed goes unpunished” has been proven to me enough that it’s finally sank in.
