Unless you "have to have" controlled feed - oh, yeah, I can see a dangerous game rifle ... well that narrows down the caliber selection 264magnum was right all along.

Was there ever any doubt?

I have one in 25-06 and one in .308. Both are excellent rifles, and both cost at least as much as commercial rifles of comparable quality . . . A .338-06 would be an interesting build (I have one that's a Savage 110--took a couple of hours to build). The ammo can be made from 30-06 brass with no strain. You can buy commercial ammo, but it's high.

If I do it again, I'll do a wildcat caliber of some sort.

I have a .458 SOCOM AR and love it.......would love to have one in a bolt gun..........the .416 Taylor and .338-06 mentioned above are winners as well
