What to chamber my Savage 110 in.

Well I can change just bolt face instead of whole bolt.
I was leaning to. 280 before but thinking 30-06 or .300 Win mag instead
The .30 240 grain Sierra Matchkings have BC of 710.
Soon as I have cash for it I was going to get a. 220 Swift barrel and bolt head.

Is only going to be for Coyotes and range work.
Stock is almost nine lbs..barrel is like 8 or 9 scope is two or so bipod is a few.
Altogether it should be kinda cool.
Any opinion on rate of twist for 240's?

Why would you run a .30 cal for coyotes? I would consider a 6-7mm rifle. 30" is not needed for a 30-06 or 300WM. If you aren't hunting a big game animal, you are just wasting $$$ with large cals. by shooting paper/coyotes.

6.5-7mm may make more sense with the case capacity of a LA round. I'd run a 24-26" barrel for a field rifle. Bench rifle a little heavier/longer.

I would go with .257 roberts A.I. put a 75 grain bullet close to 3500 fps

If I could only have ONE rifle for everything it would be the 280 Rem! I have a 284 Win built on a long action and it's freakin' awesome but I like to be different :-)

I'd go for a 26" tube 280 Rem and throat the barrel to seat the 162-180 bullets out there to gain some powder space in the case. My litte 284 Win with a 26" tube and the 162 A-Max is pushing 3011fps and I still have powder room in the case. I would not build a 30 cal since you can get such better BC bullets in the 6.5 - 7mm bullets. Later,

Well, the .220 Swift idea for a heavy rifle is a good one, I think. I wanna see this 57" bbl.

Hmmm, now what would 155 Scenars do from a 30" .300 win mag barrel? You might could spin them apart!

Another cartridge to consider is the .257 Weatherby magnum. A friend of mine has one. I saw him kill a deer with it, and it fell like it was struck by lightning. Here's an article on this offering:

The Savage is a great "switch barrel" rifle. I have considered getting a .257 Weatherby barrel for mine. CB
