I am heading to MoBoost's shop Abel racing in MWC.
Hope they have time to put my truck on the dyno to get some baseline power and air fuel numbers.
350 chevy 2 bolt block bored .040" and scat crank 3.75 stroke for 385"
chevy 400 rods and flat top cast pistons.
280H comp cam 230@ .050 .480" lift. Q jet cast iron intake 750 carb Stock GM HEI with GM coil and module from the 1980's.

Ha! junk I had laying around.

On his dyno he does not do corrections for sea level or air temp etc.
A factory 5.3 Chevrolet truck LS engine puts down 220 HP at the wheels on his dyno.

If this thing makes 260 I will be amazed..

Looking forward to seeing results. I forget that you're a qjet master. Mine still baffles me on occasion, but for the most part I love it. Maybe that's what I get for running one on a 302 :)

I built a 302 for my 84 ford van Had a 2 barrel intake and 260H comp cam.
I used an adapter and ran the Qjet and a carter AFB.. in fact 3 different AFB carbs and holley 2 barrel and motorcraft 2 barrel.. 2 of them were tried.
Looking for a MPG edge or power edge.
Once all were dialed in the MPG difference between all carbs was only 1/2 MPG the winner was the AFB750.
Power was no different between any of them.

I do like a Qjet.
So many little tweaks you can do to one.
I got 17.6 MPG just about every where i went.
Sometimes it got close 19.. 16.7 was usually the low MPG when working it harder. although hauling ass up pikes peak I got 8 MPG.
Hammer down. 45 MPH. That is one tough hill for a 6000 lb van with another 1000 lb of stuff in it.

I use it because it runs at no matter what angle what I encounter when rock crawling. Cheaper and easier than TBI, propane, or EFI swap. No issues when pointed almost straight up or straight down.

I believe it the jets are right centered in the fuel bowl. the motorcraft 2 barrel is another good one.
I would get on inclines I thought would tip me over and those kept going.

The 1947 Dodge made 243 HP and 283 TQ 13.5 air fuel ratio at max power.. 13.0 at 6000 rpm.
Adding timing changed nothing.

I did step up my rear (secondary) jets from 102" to 113" because it was in the 14.1 at 6000 rpm area.
750cfm Edelbrock.

Now for the tunnel-ram and 2 600 carbs and possibly a larger exhaust pipe.
