I've pretty much quit carrying an auto off duty/concealed.

When I am off duty/out of uniform (which is rare :rolleyes2) I usually carry my Smith & Wesson K frame model 12-2 Airweight snubbie or my Colt "Cobra" snubbie.

Of course, my Smith & Wesson J frame model 38 Airweight "Bodyguard" is in my front pocket...

Every. Single. Day.

SIG P229 SCT in 40 cal. Holds 14+1. Hits where I aim. No "safety" but a long, relatively heavy pull DA for the first shot, so I feel "safer" than a Glock or XD. Granted you do have to get used to that second trigger pull, being much shorter and lighter than the first pull.

Depending on what I'm wearing, I carry either a clock 27 with trigger guard crimson trace laser or the S&W 642 air weight equipped with crimson trace grips. (Yes I now the 642 is not an auto)
