No apologies for that -- badass--

I very recently listened to a story Tom Gresham on his podcast told about a WW2 vet who hung out at a VFW and just said he was a cook. (like Under Siege - lol) --- but he passed and a guy from the VFW helped the family clean out his house and found his papers and accolades --- guy liked to socialize and drink beer at the VFW as a cook --- but was a silver star recipient with multiple bronze stars and purple hearts

-- almost sounds like an urban legend -- but the Greatest Generation was Hard AF
Uncle Rog loved this country soo much and I honestly think it was all the BS in the last couple of years that contributed to his massive heart attack.

But mine will include pics of my suspenders that I will have to wear to keep my pants up with all that crap in my pockets, and it’s not from my gangsta rolls of hundos

There are two kinds of fatboys: ones that wear suspenders, and ones that should.

View attachment 529909I lost my first G shock in survival training about 1990, not sure how but it was gone and I was late to my rendezvous point, won’t even say what my punishment was. The saddest part was it was given to me by my Aunts Husband, I still called him uncle even though he wasn’t. I didn’t know much about what he did at the time but learned later on just what a Marine was. If you looked in the dictionary and looked up Marine his picture would be there. He was a CH34 Choctaw Helo pilot in the early days of Vietnam through the end and later on the founding member of “Popasmoke” the Vietnam Helicopters pilots association the helped a lot of folks who like him, struggled after Vietnam with what we now call PTSD. He did a short stint at the end of his career flying C-130’s for the Blue Angles out of Miramar flying the Angles support team to the air shows and a few years of Commercial Aviation with PSA (anybody remember them) until his back couldn’t take it any more from injuries due multiple hard landings from being shot and shot down on numerous occasions while going in to pick up soldiers in places they shouldn’t have been. After short recoveries he would go right back. They don’t make them like that any more and I thought I did a lot of “interesting and questionable” things during my service but I feel like a pu$$y compared to him. He’s been gone a couple years now. His lessons and memories are alive and well me and many others. Sorry for the long storyI
I also started with Casio utilizing their small inexpensive model, in the late 70's - early 80's I worked as landscaper. These watches would last a year and break (usually the band) and I would buy another for the next year. I don't remember the cost at the time but know they were inexpensive. Also, thank you for your service.

Runs about 8 seconds slow per day. Going with my wife so she can get an MRI. Hope there is enough magnetism in the waiting area to speed it up a bit!
I fine tuned mine and now it's running like a top. If you ever want to meet up in the Moore/Newcastle area, give me a shout and I'll dial it in for you.

OK, I have a question for you gurus (especially you @thor447 ). How on earth do you know if your watch is running a few seconds a day/week/month fast or slow? I'm happy when my watches seem to sync up fairly closely with my cell phone and it doesn't display seconds at all.
